In Chile, built the world's largest swimming pool. Located about 100 km west of Santiago at the spa San Alfonso Del Mar (San Alfonso del Mar resort), the pool protyanulsya long by 1 km, covering an area of 8 hectares. To fill its need 2.5 million liters of water that is delivered from the Pacific Ocean.
Guinness Book of Records has recognized this gigantic structure largest pool in the world. Construction of the facility cost 1.5 billion dollars. The decision to build the pool was taken in connection with ocean pollution and the large number of sharks off the coast.
